Smoky Mountains Bulldog Rescue is located in Knoxville, TN. We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit. We are part of the Bulldog Club of America Rescue Network (BCARN). Our mission is to provide a permanent. safe, happy and loving environment for each Bullie that we take into our program.
Every dog we rescue will be seen by our vet, examined and treated for any medical issues including Heartworms, allergies and infections, entropian and cherry eye, inverted tails, soft palate resections and of course, spay and neuter and current vaccines. We try to place our rescues in foster homes while awaiting the perfect forever home. Each Bullie is different and has unique needs that we try to accommodate through our application process.
Our rescue program began in 1999 and since that time we have rescued and rehomed approximately 700 English Bulldogs. We rely completely on donations and our modest adoption fees to support our ongoing work. (Our adoption fees seldom cover the cost of treating any of the Bullies we rescue).
We exclusively rescue and rehome the breed known as The Bulldog or the English Bulldog. Therefore we do not accept the following dogs: Olde English Bulldogs, Aultman White English Bulldogs, Victorian Bulldogs, American Bulldogs, Alapaha Blue Blood Bulldogs or other bulldog mixes.
We cannot accept any dog with a bite history or a history of aggression toward humans, whether provoked or unprovoked.
