“We save dogs but more often they save us.”
Butterbean was an owner surrender from a returned veteran who could not keep him. He came to us Heartworm positive. We treated him, had him neuterd and he was adopted by a family in East Tennessee. Over the months we have gotten several reports from his new family:
Butter bean (aka Dozer…because he loves to do that when his belly is rubbed) is still adjusting quite well and is a blessing to us. You should have seen him when he first saw the horse. He stopped dead in his tracks and kept walking towards it, then back to me, then towards it again. It took him half an hour to get up the nerve to sniff it. We laughed so hard at him.
He is so much fun. LOVES TO RIDE! He rides anything….the golf cart, the go kart, the truck, the fourwheeler. If it has wheels, he’s on board. My father passed away unexpectedly last December, and my Mom is our neighbor on the farm. Dozer now spends the days with her while my husband and I are at work. He’s been such a friend to her dealing with Dad’s death. Dogs truly know where they need to be. He started going over there all on his own, and now it’s his Monday-Friday daily tradition to go visit with her.
